In Richard Adams’ Plague Dogs, Rowf and Snitter are two dogs who escape from a vivisection lab and find themselves in the Coniston Fells. Adams describes the landscape in vivid detail, and original editions of the book are illustrated by Wainwright. In this article, I attempt to follow their path.
