Ice climbing falls are sketchy enough. Will Gadd takes it a step further by testing snow stakes and V-threads with full-weight falls on one of the most overhanging ice climbing arenas: Helmcken Falls.

Ice Climbing pioneer Gadd first climbed Helmcken Falls in 2014, setting a stunning multipitch mixed climbing route up steep spray ice. Now he’s back to the intimidating waterfall to see if climbing it is possible without bolted protection.
