Denver vs Seattle...who has better outdoor activity?

My SO and I have been considering moving to another city from Pittsburgh PA. I am interested in a change of routine and scenery. We have visited both areas, Seattle twice, Denver once. We were able to explore the cascades a bit in Seattle, but weren't able to do the same in Denver due to weather.

Getting lost in nature is important to me on hikes, and it seemed to me that it is a lot easier to do in the outdoors near Seattle over the CO Rockies. I'm sure they have their own beauty. I would like some opinions from people who live in these cities on what they think. What are the Rockies like once you get deeper into them? We only got to explore red rocks.

One other thing is that we really appreciate Greenery, and from what I saw in Denver everything was pretty brown lol.

Kind of in the midst of making a choice between the two. If outdoors was the only factor I think I would choose Seattle, but its just sooo expensive there compared to Denver.

tl;dr Looking for opinions on the nature nearby each city, how easy it is to get immersed in nature, and greenery. I didn't get to explore the Rockies too much and would like some peoples opinions on what its like there.
