I live by a nationally protected marsh that breeds probably millions of mosquitoes. How do I keep them away from my house?

I want to have some small parties outside in my yard, but going outside isn’t really an option around here. The mosquitoes are absolutely dreadful because we have miles and miles of stagnant water. What is the cheapest and easiest way to keep mosquitoes away from my yard? Last year we tried having a large fire, lots of candles/torches and a whole lot of bug spray. It did nothing.
