Wallow talkie radios for emergency response.

WALKIE TALKIE

Hello,
I’m looking for help on what too look for in a walkie talkie.

Our use:
Long range communication for emergency response teams in semi-mountainous terrain.
| ~20 mile coverage, 8+ radios, long battery, robust |

We have family members and friends that have had a lot of problems with robberies recently in their Villiage in Mexico.

The police are having communication problems and the radios that they are currently using are peices of shit (so I’ve heard), signal cuts out no more than 1/2 mile in straight sight.
We want to supply the local police with 8 radios to aid them in comms as well as a couple more for community use (posadas, hiking, walking the animals etc..)

I have not a clue on what to look for in a walkie talkie/ radio. A bit of searching I found that these two are highly reccomended for long range/survival use:
Motorola 350r and the Midland GXT1000VP4

Any help/suggestions are highly appreciated, thank you.
